Laser Cutting & PrototypingDoes your business need laser cutting or prototyping services? At Just Tape & Adhesives, we have the laser cutting and prototyping facilities and expertise to meet your project requirements.

Overview of Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is a technique that employs a high-powered laser to cut materials into custom shapes and designs. The motion of the beam is controlled using optical and computer numerical control (CNC) components.

The process allows for highly accurate cuts due to the use of optics, which enable the beam to be focused to very small sizes. However, the accuracy of the cut is substrate dependent; harder substrates can take more intricate cuts compared to softer substrates. In general, slits can be made with widths as small as 0.1mm.

Our Laser Cutting Capabilities

At Just Tape and Converting we manufacture finished products from your initial design. When you provide us a CAD file, we can process the design and use laser cutting to bring it to life.

The process can be used to cut a variety of materials, including:

  • Adhesives
  • Cloth
  • Polyester
  • Plastic
  • Thin metals

Compared to other cutting methods, laser cutting gives a smoother finish to the final design. It can be used to produce complicated designs for custom applications that conventional drills would struggle to replicate.

Overview of Prototyping

Prototypes are typically full-scale and functioning versions of a new product design that are used for testing and investor demonstrations. They are used to understand the product better and what features may need improvement. Additionally, they allow product manufacturers to discover potential manufacturing issues before the transition into full-scale production.

Rapid prototyping can be used to produce many iterations of a product design. This allows for a more comprehensive comparison of different features before determining the final product design.

Our Laser Prototyping Capabilities

At Just Tape and Converting, we have experience serving customers across a wide range of industries. The knowledge gained from this experience allows us to provide our customers with informed recommendations and high-quality prototypes upon request, allowing them to make more educated decisions.

All of our prototypes are manufactured using either a laser cutter or plotter. We offer next day turnaround for prototype designs and readily produce dies for high volume orders. Prototype creation is included in all full run production orders. Before moving forward in production, we ensure that we have full customer approval on the design.
